Three steps towards a cleaner environment
With the Kabe system, you leave no trace behind you. By fitting your entrance according to our three-step system – Scraper grid zone, Original zone and Textile zone – you simply walk away the dirt. The result? A cleaner indoor environment and gentler cleaning. Better for you and the environment at the same time.
ZONE 1
SCRAPER GRIDS
The first step in an entrance solution is the scrape zone. Here you need a robust scraper mat or scraper grid that is placed outside the front door and collects coarse dirt such as gravel, clay and snow. The unique pattern of the scraper grid cleans in all directions and the open construction effectively takes care of the coarser particles that fall through the grid.
ZONE 2
COMBI MATS
When you step into the entrance, you are welcomed by Zone 2. Here, a hardwearing combination mat, which both scrapes and dries, is placed. Kabe Original – a Swedish original since 1944 – has a unique design with classic wavy rubber strips and aluminium frame that efficiently wipes off dirt and damp, when the rubber bends and springs back as you walk across the mat. Simple and efficient – without any need to wipe your feet.
ZONE 3
TEXTILE MATS
The final step is the wipe zone – Zone 3. Here, the textile mat makes its entrance, and efficiently absorbs the last of the water from under the soles of the shoes and removes the fine dirt. The mat has been developed to self-dry quickly and keep fresh for a long time. This reduces cleaning costs and keeps the environment cleaner for longer, at the same time as the textile mat gives the decor a lift. Small details make a great difference!

Guidelines
START OUTSIDE THE DOOR
Bear in mind that other measures outside the entrance help stop the dirt from being carried onto your floor. Clean, warm and hardened surfaces with a canopy, as well as regular snow shoveling and sweeping, are some good tips.
FURNISH IN ZONES
To ensure that each mat is placed where it is most useful, divide the entrance into three zones – scraper grid zone, Original zone and textile zone.
ENSURE THE CORRECT LENGTH AND WIDTH
In a public entrance it is common for visitors to walk away the dirt. Strive to be able to take at least three steps with each foot in each wiping zone for best effect. When designing a new entrance, it is therefore important to take into account sufficient length and width of the wiping zone.
ANALYSE THE TRAFFIC
Don’t forget to analyse the pedestrian and wheeled traffic in your entrance. How many people walk in and out in a given period? Which paths do they take when they have entered the building? Does the entrance have heavy, medium or light traffic? This helps you to place the mat in the right location. Read more about planning here.
DESIGN IN FOCUS
The right mat can lift the entire space. Mix different colours, patterns and materials to create a style that sticks out – or blends in. We have something for all environments.
TAKE THE WHOLE PICTURE INTO ACCOUNT
Mats can be used in several different locations on your premises. Other areas in the building, such as reception areas, corridors, staircase entrances and lifts are also exposed to dirt and damp. Here, a hardwearing entrance mat is the perfect fit!
